Dusty Griffith, Jesse Jamester, and 2 more like this
Post by BRAVE1 on Jan 24, 2022 15:33:04 GMT -5
Our program started in a very unconventional way. Instead of scans of the arena, we were rushed to the backstage area. We all witnessed what took place at the end of Day 2 of the Cruiserweight Cup. Timeless, Donzig and Steve Awesome inserted themselves in the Frank Windsor vs. Timeless match.
The Bastards did their best to straighten things out, but the numbers game got to them, as the KGB Death Squad were also on hand to keep things under control for the band of bandits who seem to be taking some of Donzig's actions to new heights. Gus Arnold has done his best to stifle some of Donzig's actions as of late - but now he might have to worry about the reckless nature of what this newly formed threesome might be capable of.
Needless to say, The Bastards arrived to the arena in a foul mood. Looking for a fight would be an understatement. What they ended up walking into was a list of NPW employees who seemed to stare, and walk the other way - knowing full well something was brewing. On their way to what appeared to be Gus Arnold's office, the Bastards were interrupted by the Neo Sky Scrapers. Scott Steel and Dan Ferrous were finishing some last minute reps when they encountered the Trio of Riot, Windsor and Fowler walking towards them.
Without paying much attention to anything other than how much they can bench press or how far they can throw inanimate objects - The Neo Sky Scrapers could sense that the Bastards were fit to be tied, and ready to rock. Steel snarled, as Ferrous didn't waste anytime - as he was already jacked to the moon about making his NPW debut. Before long, Fireworks.
Bodies were being tossed around, violence was the flavour of the moment. But, much to the surprise of anyone who might've considered the Two Monsters who call themselves the Neo Sky Scrapers as insurmountable - The Bastards struck first, they struck hard, and they took no prisoners.
Fowler is no slouch in the size department, and he paired off with the eager Dan Ferrous and slammed him into the adjacent lockers at the end of the hallway. Steel was about to pounce, but a double speak from Riot and Windsor had him on his back and like a fish out of water - Steel struggled to get to his feet. Riot had the clamps on Steel, allowing Windsor to slug away.
Gus Arnold emerged from his office as he clearly overheard the ruckus that was taking place in the corridor. Gus watched on, amused and held a few of the security team members back - almost as if he liked the edge that The Bastards were showing. The Imperial Crown Tag Team Champions were set for action tonight, but they seemed more intent on making a statement that the entire NPW locker room should be taking note.
Fowler had worked his magic and the big man had kept Ferrous at Bay. Riot took the liberty of taking Ferrous down and applying a crossfire submission as Fowler put the boots to Steel alongside of Windsor.
Gus finally told the security team to move ahead and break up the beat down.
"Alright, Alright - that's enough."
The Bastards clearly saw red.
Windsor: "Are they here? Where are they?"
Riot: "Tell us where we can find those three spineless cowards."
Big man Billy Fowler had his arms crossed, looking menacing.
Gus: "I haven't seen them, and I can't say for sure that we will. None of them are scheduled to compete here tonight."
Gus answered truthfully, but it wasn't what they wanted to hear. Windsor who took the brunt of the attack was still showing signs of cuts ands bruising on his face. He looked down at Scott Steel and stomped away a few more times.
Gus: "Hey Hey... They've had enough..."
Windsor: "Listen Gus, we've noticed you seem to be losing control of your locker room."
Riot: "Donzig is running around doing what it is he wants, and someone has to put a stop to it."
Fowler: "I don't have much time for the other two either."
Gus: "Donzig has been a thorn in my side - much like yours. I know this isn't the first time that you all have crossed paths, and based on what I have in mind - it won't be the last."
Windsor: "Let's hear it."
Gus: "The Cruiserweight Cup Finale is coming up next month, and we expect a near sell out crowd at the Scotiabank Arena. We expect to hit new highs in regards to network streams, and it's in everyone's best interest to put on the very best show possible. With that said, I'm calling for a 6 Man Tag Team Match. No Rules, No DQ, No Countout, And Falls Count Anywhere."
The Bastards look to each other, seemingly excited about the prospects.
Gus: "The Bastards will have a chance to earn some revenge. You Three will challenge Timeless, Donzig and Steve Awesome as the Double Main Event alongside the Cruiserweight Cup Finals."
[We hear the fans inside of the arena roaring with cheers to showcase their approval.]
Gus: "As for tonight, it doesn't look like we will be having the tag team match since the Neo Skyscrapers don't appear to be in any condition to compete here tonight."
Riot: "It's time we take a stand. Chris Card with the pepper spray - Those three goofs last time out. The Bastards aren't going to take any of this laying down. For those who assume we're johnny do-gooders are sadly mistaken. We welcome the fight, and we welcome the violence."
Windsor: "Let's get out of here."
We Watch as The Bastards brush past Gus Arnold and head towards their locker rooms. It seems as though they're going to remain in the building should their rivals decide to show up - they would be ready, willing and able.

[The Arena.]
Kaupena Yoon is well connected and deeply entrenched in the world of professional wrestling. He has a solid crew to watch is back, and seems to carry a big stick and is willing to wield it against anyone who opposes. On this occasion, he would be staring down Dusty Griffith - a man who made a huge statement by reaching the Semi Finals of the CWA World Heavyweight Championship Tournament last month. Moreover, Dusty has finally declared that his time in Northern Pro Wreslting will indeed be considered his last run as a professional.
Dusty spent a few nights in Northern Pro Wrestling in 2020 which were mostly guest appearances. He did come to the aid of Jay Stevens in their feud with Bloodline. He also turned back the challenge of KUMA whom he would later agree to tam with the mind to show the young upstart 'the proper way'. Now, Gus Arnold seems intent on keeping Dusty as a full time competitor and seemingly lured I'm out of retirement. Both of these men are considered dangerous, and both will find their respective places within the promotion as time goes on.
Griffith stands in his corner as he snaps and pops himself into full working order while staring across the ring at Yoon and his manager discussing their strategy.
A moment later and the heat of the crowd rises with anticipation when Yoon confidently steps out of his corner, ready to fight and calls Dusty forward.
Griffith steps away from his corner with a methodical pace as he circles clockwise around the ring, never taking his eyes off his opponent. Yoon brazenly steps in and looks to engage the bigger man and Dusty is more than happy to oblige. When Griffith tries to shoot in on the smaller fighter, Yoon dodges, but clearly notices the older, heavier grappler is still explosive. Yoon was able to side step and hit Dusty with a stiff knee lift! Dusty was dazed, and Yoon struck against with a blazing Yakuza Kick!
A second later and Yoon fires a quick, hard shot at Griffith on his knees, landing with a stinging thud against his chest that knocks him back. Seeing his chance, Yoon stomps away to keep Griffith down, his boot landing on his chest and face until the referee orders him to back off.
The crowd boos as the brash Polynesian fighter gloats. When he sees Griffith roll back to a knee, he pushes past the referee and scores with a low dropkick that floors Dusty again! Dusty off to a slow start, as he was tasting the mat, laying down face first. Yoon stomped away, then hit the ropes and dropped a vicious elbow to the back of Dusty's head. Yoon gloated once again, which allowed Dusty a chance to clear the cobwebs.
Popping back up, Yoon surges with confidence and begins to run his mouth at the fans. Down on the mat, Griffith stares up at the lights and grinds his teeth. Rolling back up, he rises onto his knees and rubs at a sore spot where Yoon’s foot landed on his face. Dusty shakes it off, and comes forward. Before a collar an elbow tie up can take place, Yoon dives in for a single leg, but Dusty bounces round showing great agility for a man of his size. Yoon was relentless, looking to secure a take down, but Dusty would eventually push Yoon off and get back to neutral ground.
Out on the floor, Osiris alerts his charge to get back to work. Yoon turns and stomps over before throwing a kick at Griffith, who catches his boot and is looking pretty fed up with how this has been going for him.
Thinking quickly, Yoon hops up and clips Griffith with an enzuigiri that rattles the angry bear. This time, Dusty doesn’t fall back and it just seems to have made him more agitated.
Yoon races to the nearest corner and ascends to the top before leaping off with a twisting moonsault that finds nothing but an empty space on the mat! Despite the sudden crash landing, Yoon is back up quickly only to be met by Griffith who snatches and tosses him up high with an overhead belly to belly suplex! The ring shook with Impact, as the big man from Boise used all of his body weight to deliver the most impact.
Yoon scrambles again, but as he gets to his feet, he’s met with a searing chop across the chest with a cracking sound that rips through the air. Before he can fall, Griffith grabs hold of Yoon and blasts him with a European uppercut and then caves in his midsection with a huge knee lift. Yoon bounced back against the ropes and showed signs of a dislocated jaw, but the Murderous Intent within him wouldn't be denied. Yoon used the ropes to catapult him forward and he clipped Dusty with a nasty diving forearm strike! The big man was down to one knee. Running Bulldog Followed, as Dusty hit the canvas face first once again!
Yoon was feeling himself, looking the part even in this contest where he was at a big size disadvantage. Yoon picked Dusty up and attempted n Irish whip, which the big man blocked!
WHAM!
Knife Edge Chop!
Dusty then sent Yoon into the ropes, and caught him. SIDEWALK SLAM!!
CRASH!
Dusty Drove Yoon into the mat with extreme force. Dusty got back to his feet, and looked around the arena. Yoon was slow to his feet, but showed he wasn't going to lay down and was ready to continue the fight. Yoon swung, but Dusty moved and hit him with an Atomic Drop! Maintaining control, Griffith gives the crowd a look that draws a cheer. They know what’s next when he stuffs Yoon’s head between his legs.
And then in one fluid, devastating motion, Griffith yanks Yoon up and then whips him as hard as he can to the mat with the Atomic Powerbomb!
Dusty folds Yoon up to make the count.

A hell of an effort from Yoon, but it wasn't to be. Dusty Griffith soaked in the cheers and adoration from the crowd in what was a successful return to Northern Pro Wrestling.
Yoon rolled out of the ring holding his back and walked up the aisle with Osiris in tow. Simply nothing to hang one's head over, as Yoon will be back and undoubtedly successful after what was one of the most difficult debut matches one could fathom.

Main Event
Northern Openweight Championship Match
No Time Limit
Ronnie Long (c) vs. Neo James Carner
--
--
The fans were waiting with anticipation for this one. Two of the biggest stars in Northern Pro Wrestling were going to put their skills to the test on the big stage. Ronnie Long has done his best to maintain a comfortable distance away from his former tag team partner - Daeriq Damien. However, everywhere he look, Damien is speaking for Long - He's doing business deals for Long - and Now he says he has offers that Long won't refuse among many other dubious plans for their future. Stalker much?
As of now, Damien seems to be keeping his distance from Long when it comes to the in-ring performance stuff but that can't be said for his backstage politicking, or his desire to tag along to these big wrestling events.
On the other side of the coin - Neo seems to have taken control of the Revs. He's aware that it's his group along with Garcia to lead, and this might ultimately be a major issue for the NPW locker room. Both men are dangerous when they're on their games without distractions. Both men are on the cusp of greatness, and Jeff Noon seems compelled to help lead them.
As we know, Ronnie Long and Neo James Carner were involved in a very close battle this past summer that could've went either way. Long was able to secure a victory in ah and fought battle that could've gone either way. In this rematch, there would be championship gold on the lin. Neo seems desperate, he seems to feel that this match defines him and that he has found himself on the short end of the stick as of late when he's had big opportunities to break through. While that might be a harsh view of one's self, being ones own worst critic is often what helps push people to realize their full potential.
At the eleventh hour, both men discussed how much this match means to them, and if you're Ronnie Long, you might just be thinking about it back home in the south, waiting to let your hands and feet do the talking for you.
The match was a chess match early on with each man holding their side of the ring as if it were their own personal property. Whenever one ventured too close, the other was quick to lash out and force their opponent to back up. Neo finally had enough and took the fight to the champion early on. He looked great, and looked as though this was the opportunity he had been seeking that he didn't want to let slip away.
Ronnie Long has long been the third wheel in the Untouchable group, and he knows his resume isn't as decorated as some of the people he ran with back in the day. So to him, this is a huge deal, and he knows he may not have the luxury to expect these kinds of big money matches in main events to continue should he lose the championship. It's cold and harsh business at times that Ronnie knows all to well.
The fans were behind Ronnie, but gasped as Daeriq Damien appeared at the top of the ramp. Damien kept his cool and walked slowly down to the middle of the aisle. He tried to stay out of Ronnie's periphery, and allow the match to unfold organically. But, who was he kidding? He had something big on his mind, something that he was ready to expose and share with the masses. Would it be here? Would it be tonight? The crowd watched with anticipation.
What they might not have seen coming was the fiesta side of Long. Neo was doing his best to push boundaries and to steal any advantage he could at every turn. Whether he was raking the eyes or refusing to break at five, but holding until 6 when the referee would issue the warning. All is fair in love and war. to NJC, this was war.
Long fought back with some heavy strikes and blistered NJC with a massive lariat that took him outside to the arena floor. Long was trying to maim him and made that much clear. Long decided to follow NJC out to the arena floor, but this is where the match turned violent. Neo felt he had to bring the fight, he had just eaten a huge lariat, and the bigger man was stalking him around the ring. NJC played possum and when Long came around the corner, Neo speared him into the time keepers table!
The ring bell flew in the air, did a 360 and landed on Long's face! The ref couldn't see it, but NJC stomped the bell into Long's face, before kicking it away before the referee could see it! The fans saw it though, and the blood from Long's nose showed that it was a clean strike.
Daeriq Damien was curious and it got the best of him, as he walked down towards the ringside area. The referee turned, and pointed for him to leave. The distraction helped NJC's strategy, as he used the guardrail and draped over long, before trying to use the bottom rail to choke him!!
The fans were losing it, as NJC moved the guardrail back to where it was before the referee could see it. Long was now bleeding and gasping for air! Neo played to the crowd, at which time Damien backed up and the referee looked on. He continued to count.
3!
4!
Neo was about to roll under the bottom rope, but Long somehow crawled over and grabbed is foot! He wouldn't allow him back into the ring.
RAAAAAAHHHH!!!!
Neo was back in Long's clutches and trying to wiggle free
5!
Long threw his own forehead into Neon's face! The greyhound winced in pain, before checking to see if his nose was broken.
6!
Tears filled Neo's eyes, as it would with anyone after a direct strike to the beak. Neo has a nice looking schnoz as well, so it was like double impact. Long slugged away!
YAY!
Neo Returned Fire
BOOO!
Long's Turn.
7!
Long escaped, but Neo grabbed him by the waist, and german Suplexed him! Long hit the mat Hard, and Neo looked shocked he pulled it off. It was a beauty!
8!
Neo looked up, and instincts kicked in.
9!
He rolled into the ring, Long was on his heels!
10!
DING DING DING!
Winner: Neo James Carner via Coutnout
It might not be the win against Ronnie that Neo had hoped for, but this match now had their score at 1 win apiece and most certainly keeps Neo’s a top contender to both singles titles in Northern Pro Wrestling. Long looked disgusted, and perhaps Damien was right - the slow starting and easy going nature might've been the prevailing thought for longer than was needed.
Instead of being able to kick it into third gear, Long seemed to have a little ring rust, which would be Gus Arnold's fault for giving Long time off to heal during the past forty-five days. The fans booked Neo, who ran around the ring like he had won the super bowl!
Neo would leave the ring and point to his waist, saying it was only a matter of time before he had championship gold. Ronnie's championship gold.
Ronnie finally caught a glimpse of Damien in the background. Long looks angry, as Damien walked away without revealing any of his future plans.
Our final shot is of Ronnie Long leaving the ring with the Northern Openweight Championship over his shoulder, walking with purpose looking to track down his former tag team partner.
