Eddie is in the dressing room, he has changed into his training gear. As he is sitting on the wooden bench tying up his bootlaces, he looks up at the mirror.
"So close to my goals. Need to up my game if I want to get to the Semifinals. First two matches are done, far from the outcome that I was looking for. I wanted to. Two draws, both times going to the time limit. Once again proving how good I am. The ability to wrestle for 15 mins straight. Even though I was locked into a submission hold. I managed to hold on to pick up a point. Then to go out in the second match and do the same again."
Finally standing up, Eddie grabs his towel and water bottle.
"This time has to be different. I want, I need, I deserve the win so I can advance to the semi-finals. Walk in the park, no! My match against James Knight. I will be taking him as seriously as I did with Stevens and Fristik. I need to come up with a different game plan heading into this next match."
Suddenly his attention is broken when he hears the gym's front door.
Cade walks in the front door to the gym, the gym that he has been training Eddie in since the beginning of the Cruiserweight Cup. Cade walks up to the ring, places his bag down on one of the chairs ringside.
Eddie suddenly walks out of the dressing room.
"Finally you made it!" said Eddie as he walked up towards the ring.
"Yea, I had to walk the last mile, something to do with the road being closed." Explained Cade
"Get yourself warmed up and we can start on the training once I'm changed," he also added.
"That's what I wanted to talk to you about," said Eddie while sitting down on one of the ringside seats. Cade sits down on the ring apron.
"What's up, bro?" Cade asked.
"The training has served me well in the last two matches. Now I think it is time to change the game plan." Explained Eddie
"What were you thinking of?" Asked Cade.
"This is the last Bracket Match. to advance I need to pick up the win. I can't afford to end up with a draw or loss, this time it needs to be a win. The training has served me well, lasting 30 mins over the last two matches. This time I need to go in for the kill and pick up the win at any cost." Eddie explained.
Cade jumped up onto his feet, with a sense of urgency.
"Why the hell, didn't you just say so. Get yourself ready. Today you are going to hell." Cade Said.
As Cade walks off to the dressing room, Eddie starts to warm up in the ring. With a huge smile on his face.
Later that day Eddie is outside his cabin, he is seen pacing back and forth while looking at a camera video.
"So Match Three. My Last match for the brackets stage. Two matches, two draws. That's right, still undefeated in NPW. At this point, I need a win to be able to move on to the semi-finals. The only thing standing in my way… well the only person in my way. James Knight, known as the Purest Wrestler Alive. Well, I hate to point out the obvious. You haven't had much luck during this tournament so far."
Eddie re adjusts his leather jacket as he paces back and forth.
"I am fully aware and prepared to head into this match. To be frank with you, the best you can hope for is to last more than a minute. Truly it will be an improvement on your last couple of matches. You walk into SWAT bold as brass with your contact in hand. Straight away declare your intentions to enter the Cruiserweight Cup. You came in with huge claims, full of confidence. You could say well overconfident. Boy didn't that show in your first match, even more so in the second match. You lost in embracing time against the very same people that I wrestled to a 15-minute draw."
Taking a moment to think over his next words. Eddie runs his hand through his beard.
"Damn boy, you have bitten off more than you can chew. Maybe you should run back to SWAT with your tail between your legs and ask for a miracle to keep relevant. I'm fully aware that this comes across as arrogant and cocky. After eight matches, still, no one has made me submit or pinned my shoulders to the mat. So yea, I have confidence in my ability. At the moment, I am the one to beat in this tournament, well if that is possible. I beg you James to come and try to do what no one else has managed to do since my arrival."
He stops pacing, before turning to face the camera slowly walking closer.
"I will see you soon. Make sure you Come to fight, or be prepared to run back to SWAT. I would wish you the best of luck, but to be honest at this point you are going to need a f'n miracle!"
