Takaru Matsui vs Dusty Griffith vs. Neo James Carner vs. Danny Ray
Roleplay #1 "Pain is my Pleasure"
The smell of urine fills the small hotel room, to-go containers and empty liquor bottles can be seen lying around everywhere. Danny Ray sits passed out in a recliner next to the bed, as a half-drunk bottle of Fireball lays on his lap. He has been drinking almost non-stop since his debut match with Roy Harlowe. If you listen to Danny Ray explain it he's celebrating his victory, but those who know him best know he's trying to escape reality.
The Ray children get off the school bus screaming and shouting while running as school is out for the summer, Danny Ray can be seen sitting on the porch with his beautiful wife Amanda drinking an icy cold glass of sweet tea. A huge smile comes across his face as his oldest boy tells him he's been selected to join the High School, wrestling team. Danny Ray gives his boy a huge hug letting him know just how proud he is of him.
The past year has been rough not only for Danny Ray but the whole Ray family, while most people were enjoying the nice weather with family BBQs and parties, the Ray family has been struggling. Danny Ray was released from his contract with the small network of wrestling companies he had worked so hard for. He has been working small indy shows and was finally signed with a large up-and-coming company where he became the Global Champion, but soon after the company was forced to close down. Once again leaving Danny Ray without a job or a means to support his family.
Days became longer nights even longer as he fights to hold back the darkness that continues trying to escape from within him. He believed the darkness was gone after his feud with his brother in arms El Cazador so many years ago. Every day it seems something else happens to try and tear him down. He watches as the kids continue to run and play enjoying the afternoon weather while Amanda leans on her husband holding his hand reminding him of the many reasons he has to live.
With the sound of sirens blasting as they race by the small dump of a motel, "The Man Left Behind" jerks waking up abruptly. He instantly goes for the Fireball chugging half of what's left before even getting out of the recliner. He begins to walk around the small room bottle in hand when his cell phone goes off, he slowly reaches for it seeing that it's his cousin Austin Grant. He hesitates to answer the phone but he answers it.
Danny Ray: Hey cousin what's going on?
Austin Grant: Not a lot, how about you? I heard you signed a wrestling deal with a huge promotion called Northern Pro Wrestling and the CWA Network.
Danny Ray: Yeah, I did, already won my first match, against Roy Harlowe, you remember him right?
Austin Grant: Of course big talent, so tell me the truth how are you really doing?
"The Man Left Behind" goes silent for a moment, giving him a second or two to rid himself of any emotion before answering.
Danny Ray: Yeah, I'm good never been better, I'm about to start getting ready for my upcoming match, so yeah I'm good.
Austin Grant: That's good so who are you facing and what show?
Danny Ray: NPW's Honor: Heart of Halifax and yeah, I will be facing three others, they put me in a Fatal Four Way against Takaru Matsui, Dusty Griffith, Neo James Carner. You heard me right, I'm facing a snobby rich kid who has probably never put in a real day's work in his silver spoon-fed life. A man who believes he's other Ralph Macheo or Juan Claud Van Damme, but that's not all I still have to face a man who believes he is from the '50s trying to act like he's better than anyone else.
Austin coughs clearing his throat as he hears his cousin bad-mouthing his opponents, Austin has never heard "The Family Man" Danny Ray ever talk negatively about his opponents.
Austin Grant: Wait, wait so you have faced worse over the years, just do as you always do and go out there and win.
Danny Ray: You better believe I'm going to win because I have nothing holding me back, nothing to lose, and definitely nothing to prove to anybody. So I will walk into that arena and I'm taking what I want and that's the winner's pay.
Danny Ray: People want to leave me behind, they want to talk trash about me, they want to beat on me let them I don't need a damn thing from anyone and I definitely don't need anyone to try and tell me what to do.
Austin Grant: Cousin, you have me and you have God in your life still.
Danny Ray sighs as he listens to his cousin speak about God.
Danny Ray: God, right if there was a god I wouldn't have lost my family, I wouldn't have lost my job and I wouldn't have had to bury one of my children so don't talk to me about God. Matter of fact I have to go.
He slams the phone down as he hangs up, on his cousin as he sits back down in the recliner grabbing a fresh bottle of Fireball from the minifridge you can hear him talking about his opponents and what's going to happen to them.
Danny Ray: It's time Takaru Matsui, Dusty Griffith, Neo James Carner you three find out what "A Drunken Blackout" is but most of all what "A Fathers Nightmare" will bring you all because pain is my pleasure.
