Outside of his loft in downtown Osaka, Canadian Grappling Savant; Kenneth Marshall held court for a group of media members. It was announced that BRAVE would be relaunching their brand with a SUPER Tag League event set to commence later this month. At a recent press conference, Kenneth Marshall spoke about his interest in competing in this event. The 'smart' Japanese media inquired about Marshall's intentions to bring his 'friend' Alec Kirkland overseas to reform their 'Technical Authority' tag team. Marshall put a stop to those rumours, and was reserved when prompted to explain himself further. The media has been pressing Marshall for more clarity on his recent statements, and we are now able to share these recent developments.
Marshall: "I'm back in Japan to further my career in the 'SPORT' of professional wrestling. I owe a great deal of gratitude to the people of Osaka, who have made this city feel like a second home."
The Canadian Grappler took a moment to choose his words wisely.
"When Gus Arnold was able to secure me a spot in KINGS of Sport, I couldn't have imagined how that experience could have had such a profound and everlasting effect on my growth and development. The man that stands before you all today can be attributed to the battles waged, and wars fought for the sake of the sport of professional wrestling. I assumed I would waltz into the promotion and have my way, much like I did throughout Canada."
"I was mistaken."
Marshall raises his chin, proud of what he's about to speak on.
"I thought I knew it all. I had reached the pinnacle of success everywhere I went, until KINGS of Pro Wrestling showed me that the warriors who compete over here are the best in the world. Without that experience, who knows where I would be today. I was able to parlay my experience into greater successes when I went back to North America. I won numerous events, that were chalked full of North America's top talent. From the Lars Hagen Invitational, to the EWF Royal Rumble, to winning the Midwestern Tag Team Championships. All of those accomplishments have elevated my game even further. But..."
His voice trailed off...
"I've returned to Japan to showcase how much further I've come since the last time I was here. I'm here to compete in BRAVE, to show the wrestling world that Kenneth Marshall should be on everyone's list as one of the best wrestlers in the world today. With that said, I have made the decision to enter the BRAVE SUPER TAG LEAGUE with a partner that I have crossed paths with in Japan on more than one occasion. We haven't ever wrestled, but we have shared multiple conversations about our beliefs and the tradition that our trainers have instilled in us."
"Roger Stevens has made a tremendous name for himself here, as well as in the United States. The same passion and fire that I have burning inside of me, he to shares. Collectively, we believe that our styles marry well together, and we want to test ourselves against the best tag teams in Japan."
There was hints of joy and excitement in the traditionally stoic voice of Marshall.
"The BRAVE Tag Team Division developed the reputation for being the very best. So with that said, this is perfect opportunity for myself and Roger to compete and overcome the sport's top tandems. Mark today as the day that Roger Stevens and Kenneth Marshall officially put our names into the SUPER Tag League."
Once the message was delivered - Marshall waved to the group that had gathered and politely excused himself.
