Before NPW was an e-fed, it was a v-fed.
There was an inter-v-fed called the NAWC.
I ran another v-fed called Andrews*Promotions within the NAWC.
Unfortunately, due to cirstances that don't really need to be talked about, A*P was deleted from the NAWC forums. As such, there's no publicly available records of it, and about 2/3rds of the results are lost for good because I wrote them directly into the forums instead of on googledocs.
Deadman Crossing Wrestling is something I first conceived as an e-fed. However, when Justin Taylor got tired of running HOSS (anyone remember HOSS?) he gave it to me. I burnt out so quickly that we never even announced the change in ownership because I was done before I ever started. So I cancelled DCW before I ever started it. I've been wondering off and on since then what to do with the remnants of A*P. Eventually I decided to continuity-reboot it as DCW.
However, I'm wondering if I can't somehow have my cake and eat it too - run a v-fed open to other handlers with the option of writing RPs for interfed events.
I don't know 100% where I'm going with this... I don't know how or even if it'll work out... I can't promise I won't just lose interest...
But my favorite thing in internet fantasy wrestling is seeing an awesome storyline come together. I like it better than writing RPs, writing matches, winning titles... and this is the best avenue for that sort of thing.
So... what exactly is Deadman Crossing Wrestling?
Imagine if Lucha Underground took place in a run down honkeytonk in the rural midwest instead of in a factory in an LA ghetto.
DCW runs out of, and is named after, a tiny unincorporated community (six mailboxes on a stick) in Ohio called Deadman Crossing. It's south of a small (20K population) called Chillicothe, but within the range of Columbus OH, Cincinnati OH and Dayton OH. True, it could've been located in Dayton and had access to all those markets plus Indiana, but there's something special about Deadman Crossing - among other things, New Jasper Wrestling or Greens Fork Wrestling just would not have the same ring to them.
DCW is a writing project. Should I stick with it long enough to make it open to the public it would still be a collaborative writing project with no competitive factor, outside possibly interfed events - and even then I'm not sure how DCW would handle it should it win something at an interfed event (see what I mean about figuring things out as I go?) It's entirely prebooked, broken into story arcs, which may take place over 1-3 "seasons" depending on this that and the other, and each season would be written when the booking for it was complete.
I'm planning to write the first season all by myself, partly to make sure I stick with it and get a feel for what's going on, and partly so other people can see exactly what they'd be getting should they be remotely interested in signing on.
Now when I say modeled after Lucha Underground, I mean, there will be supernatural elements although they're going to be built up to rather slowly, there may be the odd character killed off, and the product in general will be rated R. It will also be completely intergender. Might do a separate woman's division too, dunno, depends on where the booking takes us.
If I think of anything else pertinent and/or important about DCW I'll add it as a new post so people can see it.
