The wrestling landscape has been turned upside down over the last 12 months. I'm interested in what peoples ideal fantasy roster for a promotion would look like at the moment and how that might have changed from a few years ago.
You need the following:
World Champ -
Mid Card Champ -
Tag Champs -
Female Champ -
Plus:
2 Main Eventers -
5 Mid Card -
2 Rookies/Devs -
3 Tag Teams -
4 Women -
Here are mine...
________________________________________________________________
World Champ - AJ Styles
Mid Card Champ - Malakai Black (Tommy End)
Tag Champions - FTR
Female Champ - Alexa Bliss
Main Event Talent - Kenny Omega, Kevin Owens
Mid Card Talent - Finn Balor, Adam Cole, W Morrisey (Big Cass), Christian, Drew McIntyre
Rookie Talent - Brian Pillman Jr, Danhausen
Tag Teams - The Good Brothers, Aussie Open, ReDragon (O'Reily & Fish)
Female Talent - Rhea Ripley, Zelina Vega, Tenille Dashwood, Bayley, Sasha Banks
AJ Styles without doubt holds a strong contendership for the best ever. He's still the man and if I was starting a promotion and wanted star power and an instant draw he's the man. Kenny is undoubtable as a performer and talker and has to be in the top tier right now. Equally Kevin is an incredible talent and can play the heel or face role with ease, being the perfect chase for either Styles or Omega.
Tommy End is a machine. He does Strong Style better than anyone and plays a dark character better than anyone at the moment in my opinion, hence why Bray didn't make the cut. He's perfect as that strong mid card champ that is an emerging threat for the top of card.
Balor needs rebuilding which is why he's here. Cole and McIntyre are solid workers who can draw. Christian brings a familiarity and nostalgia that you only get from legends, however he can still "out work everyone". Morrisey is on a redemption now and it's great to see. He looks fantastic and has the potential to be the ideal big man heel that wrestling thrives upon.
Pillman deserves to be a star and I have no doubt he will be. His MLW work was incredible, he just needs fine tuning. Danhausen has created one of the most entertaining characters of the last few years and brings a much needed level of entertainment.
FTR bleed tag team wrestling. It's either them or the USO's if you want a solid platform to build a division from. Logic would dictate you then pair them with the Bucks, but I prefer the Good Brothers from a character point of view, plus the give a solid ground and pound that you need in tag team wrestling i believe. Plus with Style and Balor on the roster you've got scope for some faction work. Talking of factions, Adam Cole's friends Bobby and Kyle reform their incredible tag team here and give a potential Undisputed Era reunion. They have always worked better as a tag team (Well Bobby anyway) so let's give them a decent run.
The last team in the field are relative unknowns but one of the best teams I've seen and a perfect hybrid with a power man and a high flyer. Keep an eye on them, especially now they're linked up with Will Osprey in NJPW.
Alexa Bliss is a star. Drop the silly Fiend gimmick and just make her the bad girl heel that she's been before. She has the look, can talk and can work so just let her be herself. Bayley and Sasha join this division as they are simply two of the best workers with strong, identifiable characters who can build stars around them.
Ripley has a unique look and style and can be the powerful (monster) of the division. Tenille brings a level of experience and Zelina is someone fresh and unique who can be built up as the underdog chasing the title.
