Blake Samuels: "Ladies and Gentleman, welcome to Northern Pro Wrestling. Welcome to the 4th Annual Cruiserweight Cup! Alongside Archie Rude, I'm Blake Samuels."
Archie Rude: "They know who we are Samuels, cut to the chase."
Blake Samuels: "It's 2022, and with the Continental Wrestling Alliance being the buzz of the wrestling world, I suspect that we will be seeing new fans tuning into our broadcasts on a regular basis.
Archie Rude: "Our action is can't miss, and the Cruiserweight Cup always delivers. The current North American Cruiserweight Champion will compete and show the world that he's without a doubt the very best in this weight class."
Blake Samuels: "Yes, we know you're a major Rob Garcia fan. How about Jay Stevens making his third appearance in this tournament. From Semi-Finalist, to Finalist, to to be determined."
Archie Rude: "We can't forget about Donzig! This man leaves a trail of broken bodies wherever he goes, and he clearly has ill intent with a multitude of targets in his range."
Blake Samuels: "I'm anticipating new stars coming to the forefront of this tournament. Julius Fristik and Eddie Havok will make their CWC debuts this year and both seem primed to succeed. Only four men will make it to the finale, and then it's may the best man survive!"
Archie Rude: "Enough posturing, it's time to compete!

Rob Garcia vs. Donzig
--
Both men hit the ground in a heap. Clearly, their bodies were going to be used as weapons and they were going to continue to increase the limit from a daredevil perspective. The fans loved it, as both men were fighting their hearts out. Well, not if you're Donzig - we aren't sure he has a heart.--
Both of these men made it abundantly clear that winning the Cruiserweight Cup was their top priority. From the training regimens, to their focused and diligent approach in preparation - both Eddie Havok and Jay Stevens showcased true professionalism. Jay Stevens has a lot of experience in this tournament format, and has used it to springboard his career over the past couple of years. Eddie Havok has faired well in tournaments of a similar ilk in other promotions, and knows the importance of pacing, and taking care of one's body as these tournaments will take their toll.
As expected, this match was fought on the mat, and the crowd was gifted a tremendous effort from both sides, as both men were looking to show their technical prowess. Jay Stevens hangs his hat on his catch wrestling style, so this was right up his alley. There seemed to be a kick in Jay's step as well - this could be due to the fact that as of late Jay's been running with Dusty Griffith. Based on what we know about both men, they are most certainly pushing each other.
Eddie Havok enlisted the services of a man from his past to help sharpen his skills heading into the tournament. Havok was game, and matched Jay at every turn early on. A key highlight was after a series of deep arm drags, Eddie was able to flip out of a third attempt from Jay and best him with a super kick! He didn't stop there, he went to the other side of the apron, launching himself with a diving forearm strike that caught Jay clean. A near fall followed, as Stevens was able to kick out before the three count.
Eddie looked to mix it up, and this lead to the match spilling onto the floor, which favoured the Havok's desire to take Jay out of his element. Jay fired up a few times to keep Havok honest. but overall, Havok's approach was relentless, and muscled Jay up against the steel guardrail where he unleashed with a fury of strikes.
The referee got close to the ten count, at which time Jay broke free and rolled under the bottom rope, Havok followed suit, and once inside the ring, Jay caught Havok with a capture suplex and took him head over wheels and sent him crashing down to the mat. Jay stayed on top, hooking the leg - but a 2 count was all he could get.
At the ten minute mark, the crowd was fully engaged as the pressure started to mount. Who was going to take the lead and find a finish. Stevens nearly had Havok dead to rights with a single leg crab that he has used to put away opponents in the past. Havok was close enough to the ropes to reach them and break the hold.
Once back to neutral ground, Havok took Jay down with a double leg, but Havok was overzealous and nearly got caught in a triangle choke from the bottom. Stevens was about to lock it up before Havok's submission defence instincts kicked in and he was able to posture up and slide into position for a head and arm choke. Stevens felt it coming, so he kipped up, showing tremendous core strength, and broke Havok's grip. In the scramble, Jay swept Havok, tried to take his arm... Havok fought it... could he? Would?
Jay has it! He's trying to hyper-extend. Havok fighting it, not wanting to let it happen...
DING DING DING!!
[Collective Sigh.]
The referee jumped in to break things up.
It appears as though the time limit has expired
Both men certainly earned their point in this contest. A certain level of respect was shared, as both men had their moments and opportunities to put an end to the match. Jay rolled out of the ring, looking disappointed. He felt he just needed a few more seconds to fully lock up the submission and a potential victory!
Result: TIME LIMIT DRAW
--
The lights go out as "Family Man" by Craig Campbell starts to play. A rainbow of different multi-colored lights begins flashing throughout the arena. The music stops when suddenly the arena goes black again, a single blue spotlight shines down upon the entrance stage revealing a shadow of a man standing solely by himself in a black hoodie and jeans. "Better of Dead" by Mass of Man starts playing as the figure makes his way down to the ring carrying a barbed wire baseball bat.
The crowd is confused as to who he is and what he's doing as he reaches the ring he grabs a microphone before rolling into the ring. He slowly makes his way to his feet still holding the bat and microphone where he makes his way to the center of the ring and begins to speak as the song ends.
"The Man Left Behind"
Northern Pro Wrestling and the CWA, today is monumental not only is it the first day of the NPW 4th Annual Cruiserweight Cup but the day I make my return to this great sport. The day I put everyone on notice and the day I start taking what I want.
The man reaches up removing his hood revealing Danny Ray, the man once known around the world as "The Family Man". The audience begins to chant "Family, God, and Wrestling" as they stand on their feet cheering.
"The Man Left Behind"
Yes, "Family, God, and Wrestling" continue to say it, but it means absolutely nothing, anymore, I am a man left behind, by everyone. I am no longer that weak pathetic man that use to fight week in, week out for his family, for his friends, and for anyone else in need. No, I now fight for myself.
The crowd goes silent except for a few sighs from the young kids and some mothers and fathers.
"The Man Left Behind"
I'm not here to make you all happy tonight I am here to make a statement.
Danny Ray slides out of the ring grabbing the ring announcer, dragging him into the ring where he delivers "A Drunken Black Out" (A Stalled DDT) before sliding back out of the ring and heading up the rampway as "Better off Dead" plays once again while the crowd is left stunned.

Vincent Wolf vs. Xiaolong
--
Two hungry competitors who have vastly different styles and outlooks would grace us with their presence in our second match of the evening. Hot off of the heels of a solid performance in the CW World Championship Tournament - the SWAT Australian Champion look to foray his expertise in acrobatic wrestling into NPW with the goal of winning the Cruiserweight Cup.
His opponent is a man that is on the cusp of breaking through in a major way. His respectful and no-non sense approach has started to endure the NPW faithful to his ways. Xiaolong has a strong resume, and brings an array of experience and skill to the roster. Some have Xiaolong marked as a major player this year, and someone to keep an eye on. Either way, the fans were anticipating a solid affair between two men who could easily run the gauntlet and hoist the coveted trophy at the conclusion of the tournament.
Xiaolong struck first and often, showing very little mercy in the process. His striking was on point and had Wolf backed up into the corner with little recourse other than to block and cover up until the referee asked for a break. When he did, Wolf lunged forward with a thumb to the eye, and followed it up with a kick to the gut and a double under hook suplex which took Xia up and over. Stomps followed, as Xia looked to shake the cobwebs.
Xia resorted to his mama training with Wolf closing the distance, baby dragon shot forward and took him out with a single leg takedown. Xia held the leg and used it to stand up to execute dragon screw leg whips. Wolf showed the pain and agony he was suffering from, and Xia then yanked his leg from the ankle which really stung. Xia hit the ropes and dropped a quick elbow drop across the stream of his foe.
Wolf rolled out of the ring and tried to dance on his feet, but limped as the damage to the leg prevented him from giving the ladies what they came to see. A chuckle fell over the crowd, as the males in the audience were already ready to rock if Wolf laid it on too thick.
Once Xia followed Wolf out, he was able to catch him with a slick back elbow which stopped him in his tracks. A face plant on the apron followed before rolling him back into the ring.
DROPKICK!
High Arching and perfectly executed!
Wolf caught him clean.
GERMAN SUPLEX
Oh No, he's trying to get the trifecta going, he's been known to finish matches this way.
NO! Front roll from Xia, cradle..
1.
2
NO!
Kickout from Wolf, that was nearly it.
Both men back to their feet. Swift side kick from Xia, he hops up on Wolf's shoulders...
VICTORY ROLL
Wait, Wolf stops it, falls forward, He has Xiaolong cradled
1
2
3!
Kickout!
It's too late.
The referee calls for the bell!
Wow what a shocker that was.
Winner: Vincent Wolf (6:34) via Roll Up.
Wolf tries to celebrate with dancing, but Xia isn't having any of it! Dropkick sends Wolf packing. The fans erupt, and cheer Xiaolong who was caught in a way where many wrestler have been caught. You're on offence and suddenly the leverage changes and you find yourself in a pinning situation.
No harm no foul, Xiaolong will have a chance to turn it around in short form on Day 2.

James Knight vs. Julius Fristik
--
The second generation superstar who was told he wouldn't ever wrestle again - was right here, wrestling again. Strong genetics, a never say die attitude, and endless ambition are some of the traits and mindsets that spurred Julis Fristik to piece himself back together and once again set foot inside of a professional wrestling ring. The fans gave him a massive standing ovation, as this would mark his official return to action.
We waited for James Knight to make his way to the ring, and he did so to little fanfare. His reputation was solid, but until he proved it inside of the the ring - it was only talk. Conjecture being what it is, you'd have to take the source into consideration before believing what you heard. Unfortunately for James Knight, tonight wasn't going to go very well for him. Julius was a already high on adrenaline, and when the bell sounded he rushed forward with a look in his eyes that could be described as a comparison to a lion haunting it's prey. The fans loved it, and cheered it on.
Before long Julius had cracked Knight cleanly with a nasty roaring elbow. This lead to a basic scoop slam, and in a flash, Julius was up top and leaping with precision and delivering his 'fall from grace' leg drop from the top rope.
RAAAAAHHHH!!!
Julius waited for Knight to gather himself, and when he did Julius was laying in wait.
ALBERTA PLEX!!
WHAM!
He got it all
1

3!
Winner of the Match: Julius Fristik (0:32)
In a mere thirty two seconds, the second generation star had made a major statement by disposing of James Knight in very short order. Knight appeared surprised, but that's the type of competition you can expect in The Cruiserweight Cup! Like a hiccup, Julius left the ring and slapped hands with the fans. It felt good, and it was clearly a crowning moment for Julius knowing what he has been through as of late.
[Backstage.]
[We Cut to a secluded area with a video monitor hanging from the wall.]
[Slow Clap.]
["Timeless" Alex Turner.]
[MRIDONTGIVEAFUCK watched on and whispered to Roxy who stood next to him.]
[Clearly, there is something going on here that hasn't been spelled out to the rest of us.]
[Cut back to the arena.]
We watch as Julius bows at the top of the stage, before disappearing backstage.
--
Blake Samuels: "This certainly something to monitor as we know both Timeless and Julius spent time together in the hospital."
Archie Rude: "Timeless offered Julius some great advice when they were there together. Perhaps Turner has taken a liking to the young lad."
Blake Samuels: "I don't trust Alex Turner as far as I can throw him. You don't think the fact that his father is Jesse Jamester has anything to do with his interest in Julius?
Archie Rude: "The art of war Samuels. Something you would know very little about."

Rob Garcia vs. Donzig
--
Our show ended with arguably two of the biggest stars in Northern Pro Wrestling colliding. Rob Garcia isn't afraid of anyone, and he talks a slick game and isn't afraid to back to up. Donzig holds everyone accountable and if you utter his name in any sort of way other than respectfully, you can expect to catch a serious beating. Rob Garcia recently lost the necessary weight to enter this tournament, and also win the North American Cruiserweight Championship! His recent string of extreme violence has really turned heads. In the Great Northern War he had his own personal highlight reel of high impact offence. Fast forward to his bloody feud with Lochlyn Cade, and that's all you need to know. Garcia loves to come up with pet-nicknames for his foes, hoping to demean them and taken them off their game.
Donzig on the other hand has been in the mix of some major wars in NPW. As of late, Donzig finally took steps towards chasing the North American Double Crown, and in what had to be considered the match of the night in Las Vegas four weeks ago, Donzig left Jesse Jamester laying at the conclusion of their war. Coupled with Donzig's decision to seemingly work with 'Timeless' Alex Turner in a little - "an enemy of my enemy is a friend" type of mentality - both men seem destined to lock horns with Jesse Jamester in the coming months.
As expected, these two wasted very little time going at it. They bounced from pillar to post, and nothing was off limits from an offensive perspective. If it wasn't held down, it was going to be used. Or, at least they were going to flinch as though it could come into play. A beautiful super kick from Garcia rattled Donzig snd sent him through the ropes. Garcia hit the ropes, dove from the ring onto the concrete floors with a twisting plancha that brought the crowd to their feet.
The impact took it's toll on both men, but Garcia was up first and slammed Donzig's head onto the guard rail.
WHAM!
Donzig tasted blood, and it fired him uo. Suddenly he was returning the favour by slamming Garcia into the guardrail. Then knife edge chops!
WHOO!
WHOO!
Irish whip.
CLANG!
Garcia does a somersault into the guardrail as Donzig whipped him with all of his might.
Donzig rolled into the ring, and then went up to the top rope. Garcia was starting to come to, and Donzig leapt and connected clean with a double axe handle from two stories up!

Donzig mounted Garcia who was bloodied, and reigned down with punches. Garcia smiled, and asked him if that was all he had?
The crowd popped, as Garcia seemed not to fear Donzig like others might.
Garcia swept Donzig, and found himself on the offence. A few strikes, and Garcia then slipped back looking to lock Donzig up in the Sharpshooter!
Dozing was fighting, he was scrambling...
WHACK!!!
Sinclair Godfrey with a chair shot to the back of Garcia's spine!
Ding Ding Ding!
Garcia fell in a heap. Donzig was up, and smiled at Sinclair. She handed him the chair.
WHAM!
One more for good measure! Donzig looked pleased, while his hand wouldn't be raised in victory, he certainly carried out a task he claimed he had been chasing for weeks now. Donzig said he was in the Cruiserweight Cup to send a message to the North American Cruiserweight Champion - and he seems to have done so. This wasn't about wins, or points... this was about trying to hurt someone.
Winner: Rob Garcia via DQ (7:17)
The official and a few of his associates pushed Donzig up the ramp, but he raised his hands and smiled and went willingly. Gus Arnold was out, and at the top of the ramp waiting for Donzig.
Gus Arnold: "It's always something with you, isn't?"
Donzig snarled before bowing to the owner of NPW in a disrespectful act.
[Ringside.]
While blood was pouring from the lip and nose of Garcia, he smiled as he got to his feet. Maybe he knew he could get Donzig off his game, and Garcia was most focused on securing the victory to further cement his legacy as the champion?
Garcia could be seen mouthing: "This isn't over."
The referee raised his hand, and the champion had earned himself a hard fought 3 points.
[Fade Out.]
