Our show opens with the former North American Cruiserweight Champion - Willard Manchester inside of the ring. Its been almost a year since the Northern Pro crowd has had the privilege/disdain of seeing the winner of the 1st Cruiserweight Cup in the flesh. Manchester brought a captor and royal robe to the show tonight, while speaking to the Northern Pro faithful about what it's like to be considered royalty wherever he goes.
The crowd wasn't keen on this comparison and made sure to let the british grappler know about it. Manchester laughed, and said he pitted such simple minds, and revealed that he had more talent in half of his body than anyone else could muster in the arena that night. Manchester spoke about his recent stint in BRAVE, while also touching on his involvement with the PURE-1 promotion out of the UK.
Manchester boasted that his game had improved, and that if he was able to dominate in Northern Pro three years ago, imagine what he could do today!
Suddenly, the fans stood and started to cheer.
[HNDRXX.]
The young talent out of New York had been turning heads in recent months with some stellar performances in SWAT. HNDRXX was rumoured to have bee invited to participate in this year's Cruiserweight Cup, but the two sides were unable to come to a deal. Suffice it to say, Gus Arnold seemed extremely excited about what HNDRXX could bring to NPW in the way of excitement, charisma, athleticism and an overall penchant for hardwork.
HNDRXX didn't acknowledge Manchester at first. Instead, he stood atop the ramp for a few moments to soak in the vibe of the crowd. Needless to say, the NPW faithful were both excited to see his debut, but also thankful that he was here to put an end to Manchester's diatribe.
A fan near the aisle held up a sign, that reminded us all that HNDRXX was also set to take part in the upcoming Trios tournament on July 1st, alongside Leon Van Zandt and Joseph Mack. If those three men can find chemistry and work together, they should be considered one of the favourites to walk away as the innaurgual XHF Trios Champions.
HNDRXX popped up on the apron, and used the top rope to catapult himself into the ring with a diving somersault. HNDRXX popped up a few feet away from Manchester, and slowly walked forward. The two men that were set for battle went nose to nose, before the referee entered the ring and stepped between them. We could sense that this match was a big deal to both of them, and the winner would set themselves up for bigger opportunities within the promotion.

Willard Manchester vs. HNDRXX
--
When the bell sounded, there wasn't much of a feeling out period. Manchester knew his advantage would be keeping the match on the ground and using his superior ground skills to keep the high flying HNDRXX at bay. Or so he thought. versed in the art of Catch Wrestling - HNDRXX is no slouch on the ground and proved it by reversing a double leg take down initially by grabbing a guillotine choke. This was merely a head fake, as Manchester had to be leery of the choke, When Manchester started to fight hands, HNDRXX rolled backwards with a bridge to roll Manchester off of him which allowed him get into side control.
A very slick move into a head and arm choke was next. HNDRXX was on the left side of Manchester, and seemingly had the hold locked in tightly. If not for Willard's feet being under the bottom rope, we might've seen an early finish there. When Manchester was allowed to get back his feet, his face said it all. A slight embarrassed look, mixed with a sigh of relief. He wasn't expecting or anticipating HNDRXX being able to match wits on the ground, and he was most certainly relieved that the rope saved him as the choke was in deep.
HNDRXX waved the fans on, and they started to clap and stomp, showing their support.
Manchester decided he would need to take the lead again, and raked HNDRXX's eyes, before synching in a side headlock. Manchester grinded his forearm into the cheek and jaw of HNDRXX and seemed to enjoy the pain and aggravation he was causing. But before long HNDRXX used his core strength to deadlift Manchester from that position and take him over with a very nice back suplex! HNDRXX held with a bridge.

Two count only, but in back to back situations, HNDRXX was able to get himself out of trouble and stymy the more experienced grappler. The fans loved seeing egg on Manchester's face early on, but knew he would have his moment in the sun as well. HNDRXX pushed forward and irish whipped Manchester into the ropes and caught him with a textbook dropkick that sent the Brit through the ropes and onto the arena floor!
RAAAAH!!!
Tope Suicida!
HNDRXX connected clean and wiped Manchester out completely.
The fans took the moment to stand and salute the NPW newcomer for his efforts up until this point. HNDRXX nodded back, knowing he was being accepted for his efforts.
HNDRXX rolled Manchester under the ropes, but as he was trying to re-enter Manchester summoned the energy to fight back and caught HNDRXX with a nasty knee lift.
SMACK!
HNDRXX was knocked for a loop and tried to regain himself. Manchester grabbed a front face lock and pulled HNDRXX into the ring but let his toes hang on the middle rope before being driven face first to the mat with a nasty elevated DDT!! The Cover...

2..
NO!
HNDRXX might've been caught off guard, but there was plenty of fight still left in him. Manchester took to the mount position and started to reign down with punches from the top position. HNDRXX took a few shots, but then snapped into defence mode, doing his absolute best to smother as many of the shots as he could. HNDRXX then reached around and got his right arm underneath Manchester's leg, and in an act of tremendous strength and timing, HNDRXX was able to pop out, while also tipping Manchester to his side. Out of fear of losing the position, Manchester scrambled forward, but in the scuffle he couldn't quite keep HNDRXX down.
In the scramble, HNDRXX lured Manchester to dive and take another shot, but he was ready. Suddenly HNDRXX's legs sprung into action and started to wrap themselves around Manchester's upper body. We watched as Manchester tried to power through, then try to get out of it, and then suddenly realize he was in deep trouble.
OOHHHHHH
The crowd knew Manchester was trapped.
OMOPLATA!!
OH MY!
He stepped over into a scissored arm bar!
Manchester's face is red... he can't fight for much longer...
TAP TAP TAP!!!
DING DING DING!!
HNDRXX released the hold as soon as the referee called for the bell. Manchester fell face first into the mat holding his shoulder!
Winner: HNDRXX via Buddha Strangled in Vines (7:12)
HNDRXX rolled under the bottom rope to give his opponent time to regroup. The referee followed him and made sure to raise his hand in victory as HNDRXX started to back his way up the aisle. The fans applauded the efforts of the debuting HNDRXX. He went toe to toe with a top end Cruiserweight with worldly experience, and he came out on top in short fashion.
A final salute from HNDRXX followed before he exited behind the curtain.

[Backstage.]
Donzig is shown sweeping down the hallway backstage, the crew scattering from before him as he seems to be on a mission. His hood is drawn up, but his masked visage can be seen underneath as he hisses to himself. Then he seems to find what he is looking for, storming into catering to stand before the table where Freakke is sitting with a bottle of water in hand as he looks up from his phone. Freakke arches a brow, but Donzig seems content that his partner is wearing a Donkke shirt.
He waves a hand absently, glaring around the room before he shoves his hood back. 'I have been having trouble trying to reach you, perhaps there is something wrong with my phone.'
Freakke shrugs, glancing at his own phone. After all, everyone knew Donzig normally let Sinclair handle the technology end of things. Donzig shrugs, and continues. 'I am calling in a favor to get us a third man for Trios! We will have our revenge on the Dark Stars yet!'
Freakke nods absently, and Donzig shakes his head before he storms from the room. He pauses at the catering table, and then spins around to yell at an intern. 'No crullers? Unacceptable! Unacceptable!'

Commandrix vs. Sinclair Godfrey
--
In a contest that has picked up quite a bit of heat over the past few weeks, these two women were set for battle. Their alliances went toe to toe a few weeks back and it was live fireworks inside of the ring. Donzig and Freakke were able to edge the Dark Stars in a hard fought battle. Fast forward to the last show, and it was The Dark Stars who made it to the final two, before succumbing to Prime Time. The former Imperial Crown Tag Team Champions are super active, and they always seem to have their noses in everyone's business, with their hands on the verge of touching championship gold.
This match was the debut of Sinclair, which we've come to learn was trained by Donzig, worships Donzig, and vows to make him proud. Sinclair has also made it a point to call out Rios, the current Amazon's champion and seems intent on getting into the ring with the champion in the near future.
The Dark Stars made their way to ringside to watch the match, which is interesting seeing as though they themselves don't have a match, but could have a vested in interest in a few of the matches taking place on the show. Donzig was on the opposite side of the ring along with Freakke, and were definitely there to offer support to Sinclair, but also keeps tabs on their rivals, knowing full well things could spiral out of control at a moment's notice. That's part of what NPW hangs its hat on. Having folks to rely on should you need to, while also representing for your crew. The numbers game could quickly swallow anyone up if they aren't careful.
The match itself was very close, and turned into a technical affair. Donzig seemed extremely nervous, almost as if he had as much or more invested in the contest as Sinclair. It brought the fans in close to understand the type of friendship the two of them had. The Dark Stars kept feinting like they were going to get involved to stir the pot, and take advantage of Donzig's state of mind. Freakke didn't take too kindly to this, and seemed ready to pounce and battle on the outside of the ring if the shenanigans didn't stop. There was just something brewing on the Dark Stars side of the ring - something we couldn't put our fingers on. The fact that they were in the arena tonight made things feel like a free for all.
The competitors in the ring could feel the added pressure, and one could argue that the wrestler that could maintain their focus for the longest, would likely be the most successful. On this occasion, it would be Sinclair who edged Commandrix after reversing a german suplex attempt, by rolling forward with a victory roll, where Sinclair was able to hold Commandrix down for the three count.
Once the bell sounded and the referee announced the winner, it was a 3 on 3 brawl inside of the ring. Donzig and Freakke, Niko and Kono were all firing away at each other. These four have been jawing with one and other since their match a month ago, and it seems as though they aren't through settling the score.
A group of NPW officials sprinted to the ring to break up the melee. Gus Arnold also hit the stage to make an announcement once the fight broke down, and the officials were able to put some space between Donkee and The Dark Stars.
Gus Arnold: "It's clear that Sinclair and Commandrix are very evenly match, and one could argue that both of them are worthy challengers to The Amazon's Championship currently held by Isabel Rios. With that being said, I am here to announce that Sinclair has been added to the Amazon's Championship match at XHF/NPW Shockwave on July 1st. That's right, the match will now be a Triple Threat!"
The fans erupted with cheers, knowing that they were going to be treated to an excellent match by three of the sports best female competitors. The final shot was of Gus walking away, with Donzig patting Sinclair on the back for a job well done. Freakke was also present, offering his support. The Dark Stars were seething, as they grouped together and seemingly indicated that they weren't happy and were set to leave their mark one way or another on tonight's broadcast.

Neo James Carner vs. Ronnie Long
--
These two men were introduced to one and other under unique circumstances. The ReVenants have been making waves all over the XHF Network for the past year, and recently through themselves into the fire. It started with random attacks on some of the promotion's biggest stars in some of their biggest moments. The bravado continues to ooze from the pours of the three men who left the AWF high and dry, in search of greener pastures.
So when Gordon Carlson and Jay Stevens wanted to make waves by introducing their third partner for the XHF Trios Tournament, The Rev's refused to sit idly by and allow anyone to get any sort of clout in the Trios division without their consent. Perhaps their decision is one they could live to regret, as former world champion Ronnie Long was the third man, and he stormed the ring and was ready to throw hands with all three members of the Revs if it came down to it.
In that moment, 'NJC' stepped forward and said he would be happy to welcome Ronnie to the promotion, while also making his debut. Both men have voiced their opinions of one and other, and both seem poised for big things both in this contest and beyond. What we're beginning to understand is the doors in Northern Pro Wrestling are wide open to the best of the best. Whomever wants to come in and test themselves are welcome to do so. The roster is deep, experienced and if you're able to rise above - it speaks to the level of skill you possess.
This match also serves as a preview of what might go down in the Trios Tournament, which is set to take place in three weeks. What was interesting about this contest is that both men walked to the ring alone, even though we're all well aware of who could've accompanied each charge, and what that might've looked like if things got out of hand, which is something that has been known to happen on occasion.
There is said to be some flaws in the tail that Neo spun about Ronnie Long, and having been snubbed for an autograph. Long denied Neo's claim and dismissed it as nothing more than posturing prior to the contest in the form of a mind game.
As expected, both men went hard at one and other, and pulled no punches. As we've started to understand, Ronnie Long is a man who is currently walking a far different path than he used to. His mind is open, his spirit feels pure, and he's looking to write a new chapter in his novel. NJC seems intent on being the sly and nasty jerk that he was in the AWF, perhaps turned up a few notches. NJC was cutting corners in this bout, which drew the ire of the fans, wanting to see this contest fought on the proper side of the law. NJC seemed to relish the heat he was generating, and stalked Long with calculated strikes.
NJC was enjoying the punishment he was dishing out. He also made reference to knowing about Ronnie for years, and how he was disappointed that the two men hadn't ever crossed paths. NJC painted the picture that perhaps Long felt he was superior, and it wasn't worth his time. Whether thats true or not, one has to wonder when that type of narrative is out there. No-one likes to feel slighted.
To Long's credit, he seemed to be as composed as he could be considering the situation. He was used to toeing a very dangerous line, and this would be a test of wills now that he had openly announced he was looking to make changes. As NJC continued to stalk and talk trash, Long fired up and blistered his opponent with some vicious strikes, which brought the momentum of the match back into his favour. A near killshot with a nasty lariat followed, but NJC had it scouted, and ducked away, side stepped, tripped him up and had Long tied up in a single leg crab.
The ref asked, but Long wasn't going to tap to that move, not to anyone. Long used his massive upper body to push upward, and leverage out of the hold to NJC's dismay. NJC stayed on the attack, backing Long up into the corner, where he teed off with some shots, before snapping him over and punting him the lower back, before flipping forward with a vicious neck snap.
The ref checked on Long, who was slow moving, but not willing to let on that he was in any danger. In a moment that Long isn't accustomed too, the fans started a slow clap, urging him to get up and fight back. It seemed to work, as Long was able to find a spot for some short elbows into NJC's ribs when he approached looking to exhibit more offence. Long fought his way to his feet, and was able to execute double arm DDT out of almost nowhere to give himself more time to recover. NJC hit the mat hard, but showed a great chin by absorbing the brunt of the move without it taking a major toll.
The fight wore on, and both men were looking to break the other. Find some sort of major opening which could be exploited, but it was starting to feel like a true chess match with either man set to pull a fast one and potentially steal the contest away from the other and at given moment.
And that's just what happened.
In a scramble, it felt like it was neutral territory with NJC in the lead, but a swift boot, and a snap poweerbomb from Ronnie Long followed. He stacked NJC and put all of his weight down to hold the pinfall position. The referee was jonny on the spot and was able to make the count, with NJC kicking out at 3.1!
Winner: Ronnie Long via Snap Powerbomb (9:13)
NJC looked intent on continuing the fight, but the referee got in the middle and told him he kicked out a split second too late. A win is win, and it took a lot out of Ronnie to push through this contest to get his hand raised. It speaks to the level of competition that exists within the promotion. A lot of words were exchanged in the lead up to this contest, and the result is likely to eat at Neo, until he can get Ronnie back into the ring for another tilt.
There is no doubt that these two men will meet one and other again the future in either singles or multi-man matches. The fallout should be interesting, as there is still much more to get to the bottom of.

"The Real" Lord Dominicus (c) vs. Jay Stevens
--
In what was dubbed arguably the biggest main event in Northern Pro Wrestling to date - two men with contrasting styles and outlooks were set to clash over one of the most prestigious championships in the world of professional wrestling today. The world assumed that Jay Stevens and Lord Dominicus would've clashed at some point by now, but their respective paths have only ever crossed when they found themselves on the same team working towards a common goal.
Last November, Stevens and Dominicus were paired together in the lethal lottery, and worked together seamlessly to earn their way into the Lethal Lottery Rumble to crown the very first North American Double Crown Champion. Lord Dominicus would finish as the runner up, and was attacked three on one after the fact. It would be Jay Stevens who was the first man out from the back to try and put a stop to the onslaught. Joseph Mack would follow, and when it was all said and done, no more damage was done. Mission accomplished as they stay.
A month later, the two biggest names in the Cruiserweight Division found themselves as leaders of opposing brackets for the 3rd annual Cruiserweight Cup! Wrestling purists salivated at the thought of these two men stepping into the ring to wrestle one and other. While both men performed extremely well and captivated a national wide audience, their destined matchup in the finals of the tournament wasn't to be. In fact, it would be Jay Stevens who would be the runner up this time after walking through the field with an air of dominance.
From a distance, we could feel that Jay Stevens was clamouring for this opportunity, as Lord Dominicus has held the North American Cruiserweight Championship for nine months, yet arguably the number one contender to the championship had yet to receive his opportunity. In the meantime, Lord Dominicus shocked the world and won the North American Double Crown.
One could argue that 2021 was the year of Lord Dominicus as he headlined many shows in both singles and tag team scenarios, and always put on a show for the fans - which in turn started their adoration for the masked man who looks to shine EVIL wherever he can.
So when it was finally time for these two men to lock up, the NPW faithful were on the edge of their seats, and for good reason. Stevens took control early in the bout, using a catch wrestling style that had yielded quite a lot of success for him. To his credit, Jay Stevens has been ultra consistent, and proven he can hit the mat with just about anyone. His recent battle with Leon Van Zandt in the Northern Openweight Tournament is still being talked about as one of the matches of the year. In that contest, Jay would be giving up size, but in this one, Jay would actually have a slight size advantage to work with.
After a scramble, Jay was able to duck a right hand from LD, and execute a bridging German Suplex in the middle..

NO!
A high impact suplex/pinning situation is kind of offence that would make Davis Avery proud.
Jay stayed on top of LD, not wanting to let him catch his breath, which lead to an irish whip, followed by a diving shoulder tackle. Jay took advantage with a reverse chin lock, and used his knee in the back of LD's neck for added leverage. We could feel LD wincing through his mask, as he reached forward looking to grab the ropes. Jay synched it in deeper, and LD slapped the mat trying to get the fans to will him back into a neutral position. The referee was right there, asking LD if we wanted to give it up, but LD refused.
After some hand fighting, LD was able to break the torque of the hold, and rolls out of harms way. Stevens pounced, looking to continue his hook and hold strategy, but LD was able to grab the ropes to force the break.

BREAK!
Jay put his hands up and walked away, making sure to break before the five count.
LD did his best to gather himself, but the referee wasn't going to allow him to hang onto the ropes for much longer. The ref encouraged the match to continue! Stevens could sense that he had LD on the ropes, so he dove forward looking to continue his onslaught, but LD caught Jay's knee strike attempt, took him down and slapped on an STF! What a turn of events!
The referee was asking Jay now if wanted to give it up.... but it didn't take long for the wrecking crew grappling sensation to find his way to the ropes.
The fans started to applaud both men when they were both back up to a neutral base, having pushed the other close to the brink all within a minute of each other. It just went to show how both of these men are capable of taking the other out in short fashion should an opening present itself.
After a collar and elbow tie up, to which LD was able to back Jay up.
CHOP!
WOOOO!
CHOP!
WOOO!
LD fired Jay into the ropes, followed him with intent and clipped him clean with a spinning heel kick that sent him to the outside of the ring. LD climbed the top rope, and DOVE OFF WITH A FLYING CROSSBODY onto the arena floor!
RAAAAAAAHH!!!!!!
What a risk, and what reward. LD could sense he would need to use all of the elements to his advantage if he was able to derail the challenger. Once they were on the outside, LD picked Jay up and irish whipped him into the guardrail! LD hit the apron - Moonsault!!!
OOOHHHHHHHH!!!
Back to back high impact flying attacks from LD had Jay on dream street. LD rolled under the bottom rope to break the count, but was back outside as soon as he could to continue working Jay over. Jay did his best to stand on his own accord, but it was clear he was rocked and fighting on instinct. LD irish whipped Jay into the steel ring post!
WHACK!
OHHHH!
LD worked the crowd a bit, who were loving every moment of it.
UH OH!
Blood was starting to pool around the eye of Jay Stevens. He appeared to connect with the ring post at high impact, and was now wearing it all over his face. The blood started to drip down from his forehead, down not his cheeks. Jay was doing his best to get back to his feet, and when he finally did, LD ran along the apron and was looking to take Jay out with a diving forearm, but out of nowhere Jay hit LD with a SUPERKICK!!!
WHAAACCCKKK!!!!
How in the...
Jay Stevens was fighting on instinct there, and perhaps the blood that he was tasting was enough to wake him up! Jay also fell down, clearly starting to feel the effects of that high impact offence put forth by LD. The referee was nearing a ten count. Would we see a double count out.
NO! Jay was able to break the count at 9, and he stayed inside of the ring. In an intelligent move, Jay was going to keep his distance and do his best to recover, while LD was pulling himself to his feet. LD then rolled inside, and seemed to have shaken off the super kick to a degree.
The two superstars met in the middle of the ring and started to slug back and forth with tight forearms. LD was getting the better of the exchange, and snuck in a deep arm drag into a cross arm breaker!
Jay tried to roll, until he was able to stack LD and showed some tremendous strength by picking LD up with his arm locked, and slamming him to the mat. Jay fell onto LD for the pin.
1..
2..
THNO!!
Close call, but LD was able to get the shoulder up.
Jay looked up at the referee, as if to question whether he got the pinfall or not. The referee told him it was ONLY 2. Jay picked LD up and was looking to continue the onslaught as blood dripped from his brow.
SMALL PACKAGE!
1..
2..
NO!
Jay was able to get his shoulder up at the last minute. That was close.
[The fans started to stir.]
[What The...]
[Niko & Kono.]
[The DarkStars.]
Just then, As Jay was getting to his feet, LD smoked him with a nasty SHINING WIZARD!! LD has won many matches with that move.
Kono and Niko had entered through the crowd and did so from opposite sides of the arena, so it was as if they were swarming. Kono got the referee's attention just as LD hit Jay clean with the Shining Wizard! LD was covering Jay, but to no avail.
LD looked back to see Kono jawing with the referee. But what he didn't see was Niko creeping up from behind.
WHAM!!!
Niko just drilled LD from behind with the North American Cruiserweight Championship. Once he executed the strike, he tossed the championship back towards the time keeper. This was all taking place behind the referee's back. For good measure, Niko picked LD up and drove him to the mat with a flowing DDT and then rolled out of the ring.
Jay Stevens was starting to come to, and he saw LD laid out on the mat. Jay picked LD up, Belly to Belly Suplex.

DING DING DING
Winner and NEW North American Cruiserweight Champion; Jay Stevens (14:37)
[The fans are in utter shock.]
The referee grabbed the championship belt and handed it over to Jay Stevens who was elated. Jay made no bones about the fact that he wanted to capture this championship and bring it back to his gym to make Davis Avery proud. Jay didn't stick around and in a business like approach, slapped a couple of hands, before exiting the ring area.
LD was still laid out, and with Stevens now out of sight, The Dark Stars looked to add insult to injury. Niko could be heard saying... "This was supposed to be MY opportunity. You've never beaten me. I'm the one who deserved to be in this match, with this amount of hype."
The bad was about to get worse, as the former Imperial Crown Tag Team Champions appeared ready to do more damage.
[Eron Hunter.]
The fans in the arena were on their feet, as Eron Hunter rushed to the ring and cleaned house. He was able to duck a clothesline, before drop kicking Kono out of the ring. Niko came charging, and Hunter caught him with a back elbow, before executing a stout face buster!
Niko then decided to regroup.
Hunter looked down, and was checking on Lord Dominicus, who was starting to come to, completely unaware of what just happened we're left to assume. Once Hunter realized that 'LD' was alright, he walked towards The Dark Stars and called them on, begging them to come into the ring and fight them face to face. But to them, the damage had been done. They had succeeded in ruining the highly touted main event, and in doing so, put their own personal twist on what was to be a special night.
They robbed Jay Stevens of a proper coronation, and they robbed Lord Dominicus of the Championship that he wore proudly for the last 9 months in one swift move. Add to the fact that the duo seem to be right on the heels of Prime Time and an eventually Tag Team Championship opportunity, it's safe to say that the Dark Stars are two of the most dangerous men on the Northern Pro Roster, who will stop at nothing to get what they feel they're owed.
Once The Dark Stars had vanished through the crowd, Hunter and LD were left in the middle of the ring. Hunter relayed the bad news to LD about what had taken place. On cue, the fans in the arena were on their feet and applauded the efforts of Lord Dominicus. Had it not been for the blindside attack he might still be able to call himself a Triple Crown Champion. But like all things in life, we ended up reaping what we sow, and something tells me that Lord Dominicus and Niko will have their day inside of the ring in the near future.
[Cut.]

The two men that were set for battle went nose to nose, before the referee entered the ring and stepped between them. We could sense that this match was a big deal to both of them, and the winner would set themselves up for bigger opportunities within the promotion.

Singles Match
20 Minute Time Limit

Singles Match
20 Minute Time Limit
