Fear
She’s not often seen in front on a camera and prefers to stay out of the forefront of Lochlyn Cade’s wrestling career. Sure she accompanies him to the ring most of the time. She’s his companion, friend, lover, and at times business partner. Despite her lack of willingness to speak on his behalf there are times that she steps in front of a camera. One of those moments is here, now.
The room is quaint and the crew consist of one man and one camera, simple but professional. She doesn’t handle notes nor anything to guide her words in any certain direction. Much like Lochlyn she speaks her mind when the time demands it.
“There’s always a kid someplace and getting him to sleep at night is an exhausting battle for his mom and dad. They often face anger, resistance, and fear. They are dealing with the fear of monsters under the bed or inside that of the closet. It’s something most parents experience or have even faced themselves as children. Some would say it’s a cultural phenomenon that spans across different backgrounds throughout the world.
Though some would disagree, fear doesn’t come from horror movies nor from ghost stories. Fear doesn’t come from society but from within. These fears are spawned from a simple fact that many adults choose to ignore. Monsters do exist and the dark is a very very scary place.”
She slows her words as if feeling them herself as if fear has been a part of her own life.
“Stories and lore foretell of many variations of monsters; vampires, werewolves, mummies, zombies, chupacabras and the such. It’s not the stories of monsters that instills the idea of fear. It’s the idea of fear itself not of any real tangible thing. Though, as I have suggested monsters do exist. From madmen, serial killers, sociopaths, or whatever mental issues that urge men and women to commit horrible despicable things.
Yet, there’s something that instills that same brand of fear inside of a mans heart when you discuss the sport of professional wrestling. It’s Lochlyn Cade and the man who trembles at the thought of facing him should be Rob Garcia. Oh, Robbie is a tough guy when the lights of the arena are upon him. He chooses words wisely in front of a camera but in the quiet darkness Robbie is, if only a little, afraid.”
Vivian Rae Jade is a pretty face with a soft voice and it’s not hard to get lost in her appearance and forget to listen to her words. It’s for this reason she speaks slowly but firmly. She doesn’t want Rob Garcia to miss anything she has to say.
“Dozens of countries and cultures around the world have some variation of a bogeyman, and some are terrifying. Several Latin countries feature the Sack Man who comes and snatches misbehaving children concealing them within a cloth bag. The Netherlands has the Butzemann, a shadowy cloaked figure that hides under the beds of children or in the darkened corners of their room waiting for the kids to stay up past their bedtime. Russia has Baba Yaga, and she is an old ugly witch that prefers to eat small children.
Stories that beg for a story of fiction but there’s something more real than these bogeymen of lore. He belongs within the borders of Northern Pro Wrestling and he’s capable of inhuman things between the ropes. Things that Robbie Garcia hasn’t seen nor experienced. Things that are new to the borders of NPW. Many call him Lochlyn Cade but he calls that monster something else it's something that Cade calls NecroCore. It’s a style that ignores the acceptable nature of professional wrestling. It goes beyond those accepted consequences and forgets the law of the land. It’s a craving for blood and the murmurs of agony from his opponents.”
She speaks of the persona that some have come to know as Serpentis Redd. It’s the place Lochlyn Cade goes when things get more brutal and bloody.
“Fortunately, Robbie’s momma and daddy don’t have to worry about those things on this night. This night is the simple form of a professional wrestling match that will end in a pin fall or submission. The Promethean isn’t looking for blood nor agony on this night just a simple victory.
Be warned though as this can change any minute and without warning. I suggest you heed these words with extreme caution Robbie. You’re standing on unsteady ground and it could give way at any moment. Like a looming sink hole where anything in it’s path is destroyed.
When you walk down the isle and step between those ropes you need to acknowledge a few simple truths.
You and Lochlyn Cade aren’t enemies only competitors in a professional setting. The Promethean doesn’t hate you. The Blood Harvester doesn’t desire your sacrifice of self. Keep it clean and if your fortunate he’ll do the same. I’m not offering promises Robbie. I’m simply offering suggestions that may help keep things geared towards a wrestling match. I’m not a handler of Lochlyn Cade. I just help manage his affairs in a business that has a certain amount of demands. Travel and sleeping arrangements, meals, and all of the formalities of a career lived in a violent profession. I can’t nor will I attempt to handle Lochlyn Cade if things get more heated than you’d like.
I can’t warn you any more than this Robbie. See you soon.”
Vivian Rae Jade steps away from the camera and she smiles as Lochlyn Cade steps into view of the camera. He exchanges a friendly smile as he places one arm around her waist. He turns his attention towards the camera and winks as he pulls the crimson mask he wears down over his face. His eyes become more narrowed and you see something different inside of them.
