Spooky season is here Northern Pro!
As a passionate fan of all things horror, I love the month of October and all the horror movie marathons that play on cable and streaming services. While I can watch them any time throughout the year, it really gets the juices flowing for the costume plans for Halloween.
This year, I'll be staying in and have a candy bowl outside with a window decal of Michael Myers on my screen door. Hoping to carve some pumpkins next week, and get those out before the weekend.
Usually for the weekend of Halloween, our friend hosts a huge house party where costumes are mandatory and booze is in abundance. We have video games going on upstairs on multiple TVs, beer pong tournaments in the basement, darts, card games, and then a series of games for prizes that are done throughout the night in the garage or outside (which have included Pinatas, sack races, dressing up a partner blindfolded, best costume prize, best couple costume prize, most unique costume prize) and some other shenanigans I won't share for sake of tradition.
The hosts of this party have a house that is always Halloween themed inside. No, it's not just October for them - they made their house the Halloween house. With a collection of mannequins in the living room dressed up as whatever TV series they are watching (last time it was the Walking Dead characters), to a display of spider webs surrounding the horror action figures lined up all over the mantle. Gremlins throughout the house in places to spook people. Wall posters, hanging bats, orange walls and horror posters or murals in rooms. It's truly a sight to see! I hope to get some pictures for the next one I do go to - 2022 feels promising.
Since 2020 didn't allow for much dress up or Halloween fun, I figured I'd ask what everyone would dress up as, if they were going trick-or-treating? There's no wrong answers here, I'm just curious to see what costume ideas our roster mates come up with.
My recent past costumes I wore go in this order:
The Dude (The Big Lebowski) 2019
Frankenstein (2018)
Silent Bob (2017)
Captain Spaulding (2015)
That's as far back as I can remember timeline wise... plus some of those parties got out of control.
If I was to go this year, I think I'd keep it simple, go as Ghostface.
