FAQs (Frequently Asked Questions)
'Q' is for Question, 'A' is for Answer
'Q' is for Question, 'A' is for Answer
Q: What is the CWA?
A: CWA or Continental Wrestling Alliance is a community for the hobby of Efedding or eWrestling.
Q: Who runs CWA?
A: CWA is managed by multiple people. Matt, Paul, Jeff, and Jesse are the four main admins who work behind the scenes on everything you see in CWA. Lochlyn Cade is responsible for the graphics of the boards and the CWA logos.
Q: What is Efedding or eWrestling?
A: Efedding or eWrestling is a writing hobby similar to that of Dungeons and Dragons. Handlers (you the reader) will create a character or persona and submit an 'Application' to an efed. The efed itself is a fictional wrestling company created by one or more people. The hobby is focused around wrestling and roleplaying. Roleplaying consists of a short form writing, usually with a word limit set by the efed owner; and will determine the results most of the time. We'll elaborate more on this later. eWrestling or efedding has been the fantasy wrestling niche of the internet since the late 90s, with an origin going back to a rumored time of people sending letters in the mail at one point (no clue how true that is).
Q: How do I get started?
A: Find an efed that stands out to you. Every efed has something different to offer. I would recommend reading the latest results or shows that have been posted, and look through the feds boards to get a feel for the people you would be working with.
Q: Do I have to create an original character?
A: Yes. We do not allow for real wrestlers to be used in CWA. Originality is key, from name to gimmick, to the trademark moves, to your appearance - make the character stand out and most of all; make it fun to write for!
Q: If you want original characters, why do you use pic bases of real wrestlers?
A: The short answer is, we like to have a visual representation for graphics. Some people choose not to have a pic base, and that's fine too.
Q: How do I win a CWA Championship?
A: Global CWA Events will be announced throughout the year, providing opportunity for those interested in chasing the gold. All events are roleplay based events with agreed upon roleplay limits for the event's roleplay period. In most cases, you will need to earn your right to challenge for a Championship match; however tournaments and specialty matches will take place that may have sign-ups for anyone to participate.
Q: When can I expect results to be posted?
A: All Global Events have a date for the event and that will be the day the results are posted. Unless stated otherwise by a CWA Admin, expect the results on the date of the event & not the roleplay deadline.
Q: Can my fed join CWA?
A: We are interested in bringing new feds into CWA, but ask that your fed be active and not new or just opening recently. All fed heads who's fed is accepted into CWA, will be asked to partake in staff duties which include but are not limited to: Judging roleplays, match writing, feedback on topics, collaborations with other feds, and other items as they are asked. It is not mandatory, but being apart of the CWA, we all pull our weight to help out where needed.
